About the Foundation
Sailors Without Borders (SWB) is existing since 2016 – at the beginning as a non-formal group helping refugees in Greece and neighbouring countries, mainly in search and rescue actions. Its mission is to provide help and support on European grounds and waters, where it’s most needed – especially where human life is endangered. SWB’s official status as the foundation was established on May 6th, 2022. The Sailors Without Borders Foundation is now a legal entity, apolitical and not associated with any religion, supervised by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Poland. SWB’s main base is in Warsaw, but it can also conduct activities and create offices outside Poland. The Foundation may support actions of other people and institutions in line with its mission; it may also employ workers and volunteers and conduct business activities to implement its statutory goals.
Sailors Without Borders Foundation may also use the polish translation of its name: “Żeglarze bez Granic”.
